Mediagenius: social media monitoring.

Mediagenius is a social media monitoring platform, designed for use by agencies to allow their clients to see, on a day to day basis, the conversations going on about their company and brand.  Each account comprises of a workspace, in which you can place a number of companies; access to company areas can be controlled so that each client will only be able to see their own data.

The system is modular, in that you install applications into each company in the workspace.  Currently there are applications for moitoring Blogs, News, rich media, microblogs, and RSS feeds, and an application to create a single graph from all the searches in the company area. Setup is quick and simple, and data will start to flow in almost immediately. Note that the Microblogs feed includes twitter, identi.ca, and comments from blogs and mainstream news.

Unlike the more complex systems such as Radian6, there is no facility for sentment analysis or workflow tracking as yet, but given the ease of use, most people who are fairly computer literate can use it and gather important insights regarding the social media conversations taking place around their company or brand.

This structure means that advertising, marketing, and communications agencies can set up searches for their clients to follow the buzz around a brand, and thus incorporate social media activity into their regular service for a relatively low initial investment.

If you are interested in using Mediagenius, go to the site and register, using the discount code nlgenius, which will give you a 5% discount for the first 6 months.
